Growing up, I had always been fascinated with travel and longed to see the world. I had been through most of the United States, Canada, and some of Mexico, but never across the Ocean. After my parents took a trip to Sweden, I started thinking about going to Europe. Slowly but surely, my dreaming turned into researching and researching turned into planning.
In 2012, I decided to make my dreams a reality and booked my first cruise, from Oslo, Norway to Stockholm, Sweden. Little did I know this vacation would ignite within me a passion for travel. Since then, I have returned to Europe on a Mediterranean cruise, as well as the Southern Caribbean and Mexico. In two years’ time, I have visited 19 countries and see no end to my traveling anytime soon.
Travel is more than just being a tourist and crossing a city or a country off a list. Travel means visiting faraway places with the intent to experience life as a local, if only for a bit.
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the things you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor and catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. – Mark Twain
